Costume Designer – Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center

Job Description Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, located outside of Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a Costume Designer to join our production department. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, ability to work quickly in high-pressure situations, and have a positive attitude. The costume designer for the Center will be responsible for all duties associated with the term designer including, but not limited to the following Costume Designer responsibilities:

• Read script and determine the costume needs for the production/create a costume breakdown • Meet with the Director of the production to discuss the concept for the show • Provide renderings and sketches for Director approval • Submit a projected budget before construction begins (must include specifics on renting, buying, building) • Attend rehearsals as necessary or as requested • Provide rehearsal costumes as requested • Schedule fittings with Stage Management • Determine building verses shopping pieces • Construct, alter, purchase, and rent all costume pieces as needed • If the production requires, coordinate to acquire shoes and wigs per the design • Meet all scheduled design and delivery deadlines

Qualifications: • A degree in technical theatre with professional theatre experience, or professional experience equivalency

Upcoming productions include; Anne of Green Gables, You Can’t Take it With You, The Who’s Tommy in concert, Godspell, A Grand Night for Singing

Local area applicants are preferred, but not required. Housing is not available.

Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center is an arts, education, and cultural asset for western Pennsylvania and the surrounding tri-state region. Located in a beautiful park setting in Midland (Beaver County) Pennsylvania (about 45 minute outside of Pittsburgh), the Center is home to the Henry Mancini Arts Academy, and also hosts arts education programs and other events. Since the Center first opened its doors in June, 2006, its mission has been to strengthen the cultural, educational, and economic vitality of the tri-state region by making high-quality arts and education programs available, accessible, and affordable for everyone.
